My Story

I started practicing Pilates as one of many exercise modalities during my early 30's. I fell in love with the method, and soon swapped my gym membership and yoga classes in favour of just Pilates. Following a move from London to Hong Kong and the birth of my third child, I left the corporate world and obtained my first 600+ hours comprehensive Pilates certification with Polestar Pilates in 2016.

Not long after, I was introduced to the authentic, Classical method of Pilates. Classical Pilates follows the traditional sequence of exercises as designed by Joseph Pilates. In Classical Pilates, the workout flows from one exercise to another, with transitions, breath, and movement integrated without interruption. Pilates originally called his method "Contrology", and that is what Classical Pilates teaches you - how to use your mind to control the muscles in your body.

I completed my 500+ hours of Classical Pilates bridge certification with Alycea Ungaro and her programme REAL Pilates in 2019. Having two comprehensive certifications means that while I am well equipped to teach Classical Pilates, I can also build up the exercises for anyone who may not be able to access the more challenging Classical exercises from day one, including those recovering from injuries, pre and post natal clients, and seniors.

I believe the best teachers are always learning themselves. I enjoy taking continuing education courses and am fortunate to have the opportunity to study and maintain a regular practice with a few Classical Pilates masters.  My mentors have included Miguel Silva, Eric Carlovich, and Mariano Dolagaray.

Originally from the U.S., I came to London in 2004, where I lived for 9 years before moving to Hong Kong. In Hong Kong, I worked as a Senior Pilates Instructor at Flex Studio. Alongside teaching a diverse population of clients, I also mentored new instructors on their journeys to certification. Circumstances brought my family and me back to London in 2022, and I am delighted to be back in this wonderful city.
